Zaydens, Isaac

Isaac Zaydens
Major:
Chemical Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

I am interested in instruction because I like helping out current students. When I was in need of help during a class, I was always glad to have a good TA or UTF help me understand the subject, and I would like to return this favor to the students who come into these classes next.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

I am interested in research because I do not fully comprehend what it is you do. I would like to try out research while I am still and undergraduate so that I can see what it is like, and see if it is what I would like to do in the future. I think doing research as an undergraduate is a great opportunity.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:

I am the President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. I am a part of the Chem-E car team. I play intramural soccer, and I am in the UMD longboarding club.

What is your cool engineering experience?:

My cool engineering experience was working at Air Products and Chemicals Inc. this past summer. I was able to see the roles that an engineer can play in a large company, and how every engineering team interacted with one another.
