Jordan, Elizabeth

Major:
Mechanical Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

Instruction is my interest during my first year because I have already had some tutoring experience (I was a TA for PHYS161 for two semesters) and I am currently a Keystone UTF for ENES221.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

During my second year I would like to be involved in Research. I plan to go to graduate school, so this would be a good opportunity for me to start working in an area I'm interested in.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:

I have been a member of Terps Racing, on the Baja Testing Team since my first semester at Maryland.

What is your cool engineering experience?:

I consider working on the Baja car my coolest engineering experience. As part of Testing Team, I have the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the car - suspension, powertrain, brakes, body panels - so I get to see the big picture more easily. Not only have I merely tested some components and the car's performance in general, but also helped manufacture some parts and assemble the car! Besides, how cool it is to race an off-road buggy!!!
