Forte, Megan

Forte, Megan
Major:
Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

My first area of interest is service. I chose this as my first focus because I think it best reflects my interests and who I am as a person. I've always wanted to have a career that was oriented around helping others and doing good for the world. I knew I wanted to focus one of the years on service, and because I personally value this area of interest the most, I wanted to make it the first focus one.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

For the second year, I chose to be involved with instruction. I decided on instruction because I have always wanted to be a UTF for a class. I love teaching people new things and helping them better understand topics. I think I would be a helpful UTF and I think I would really enjoy it. I decided to make my second topic instruction because of this passion.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:

I am on Engineers Without Borders and a member of OXE. I also just recently joined ChemE car.

What is your cool engineering experience?:

My coolest engineering experience would have to be ENES100. That was the first time I worked on a project that I felt like had real applications. I learned a lot about engineering and how difficult it can be dealing with real life (opposed to just written problems). I though it was so cool how we could do calculations and designs on paper, and then see these calculations apply to real life.
