Aerospace Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

During my first year, I will be focusing on research. There are many opportunities on campus to take part in interesting research alongside professors or independently. I am currently an undergraduate research assistant at the Space Systems Laboratory on campus. I plan on researching the capabilities and uses of the HoloLens virtual reality system for modeling and real time analysis purposes. I am excited to get involved in cutting edge research such as this.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

During my second year I will be focusing on instruction. I am a board member for the Virtus (men in engineering) program and would like to help new students become successful in college. This program has given me a lot and I feel that I owe something back to future students. I would like to become a teaching fellow in some of the introduction courses in order to provide advice to new students.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:
  • Undergraduate Research Assistant (Space Systems Laboratory)
  • Academic Chair (Virtus, men in engineering)
  • Member (AIAA, Terrafins, Club Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu Club, Terpski)
What is your cool engineering experience?:

Over this past summer I was able to live on campus and work full time at the Space Systems Laboratory. During this time, I was placed on a team responsible for the design, manufacturing, and assembly of a telerobotic arm called RANGER. I was able to to learn and take a part in the process of design all the way up to the assembly of this system. I gained a lot of team work and a lab experience from this process.
