Cain, Devin

Mechanical Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

Service is my interest for the first year because this year I am involved in an incredible service organization called Camp Kesem. I am very passionate about social justice and helping out others. Camp Kesem is a camp for kids whose parents have been affected by cancer. I will be serving as the President of the club and the director for the camp this year.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

During my second year I would be interested in potentially doing Instruction. I feel that along with service, instruction is a great way to lead and give back to others. I have not had much experience with instruction in the past, and feel that getting involved in it would be very helpful at improving my overall skill set and becoming a strong better-rounded leader.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:
  • Camp Kesem – Director|President|Founder
  • Hinman CEOs Program
  • IMAGES Tour Guide at UMD
  • Clark School Ambassador
  • Kol Sasson an A Capella Group
What is your cool engineering experience?:

I’ve been fortunate to have done a lot of cool things on engineering projects. I worked as a handy-man for two summers, and worked as a technician for Honda this past summer. I have also spent a lot of time doing other hands on projects like building a rock climbing wall, and fixing up things around my house and installing products like microwaves and sinks.
