Yang, Pei-Jo

Major:
Computer Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

The area of interest during my junior year is Instruction because I enjoy being a TA. I have been a TA for two semesters now and I would like to continue TAing for different courses within my major. Being a TA allows me to solidify my understanding in the materials while helping fellow students out.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

The area of interest during my senior year is Research as I have always wanted to work on a research project with a professor. I think it will be a great way for me to explore whether graduate school is suitable for me. It is also a good opportunity to get to know professors and learn about what is being researched currently in the academia.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:

I am a member of Association of Women in Computing and I am involved in the Taiwanese American Student Association. In addition to the RISE program, I am also in the ECE department honors program.

What is your cool engineering experience?:

My cool engineering experience would be my internship at Orbital ATK. I got to see parts of a real rocket in person and work on circuits that will one day be launched to the sky. I mainly worked on improving testing programs to make engineers’ job easier to review test data.
