Raymond, Timothy

Major:
Mechanical Engineering

What is the RISE area of interest during your first year and why?:

During my first year in RISE, I am very interested in conducting Research. Of the four areas available, I feel as though I have the least amount of experience in research, which is precisely why I am most drawn to choose it for my first year. Conducting research would give me the opportunity to expand my leadership skills in an entirely unique way from all other forms of leadership I have been involved in prior.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

For my second year in RISE, I would be interested in Entrepreneurship. I aspire to take on a management and leadership role in my engineering career after graduation. Leading a team towards a common goal is a passion of mine, and I believe that entrepreneurship would help prepare me to lead in the professional engineering industry.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:

For extracurricular activities, I participate in intramural volleyball and flag football.

What is your cool engineering experience?:

My cool engineering experience is the OSV project completed during ENES 100. This was my first major design and team project in engineering, and I was fortunate enough to be project lead for my team. Solving a design problem entirely on our own was both exhilarating and challenging, but the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the semester made this my favorite engineering experience thus far.
