Research: In the future, I hope to pursue a career in clinical research. Pursuing research will allow me to acquire independence in the laboratory by practicing the laboratory techniques, presentation skills, and developing the critical thinking skills needed to be a leader in research.

What is the RISE area of interest during your second year and why?:

Instruction: In academia, the ability to teach and guide others, to serve as a mentor and to pass on knowledge is vital. By pursuing instruction, I will be able to exercise my leadership ability to teach other students and serve as a role model.

What are your involvements and or extracurricular activities?:
  • Gemstone Living and Learning Honors Program
  • Flexus Women in Engineering Living and Learning Honors Program
  • Undergraduate Research in the Jewell Lab
  • BIOE Honors Program
  • Make a Wish Grant Ambassador
  • Gemstone CONNECT Mentor
  • Honors Ambassador
  • Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Biomedical Engineering Society
  • Global Semesters Program: Science Diplomacy
What is your cool engineering experience?:

At the FDA, my project focused on creating a flow device that would test the thrombogenicity of different materials used in medical devices. Optimizing the flow loop allowed us to create the most effective and consistent model for industries to test their devices for thrombogenicity.
